So, on friday afternoon, following a light lunch of salad with turkey and lite honey dijon dressing, and a cranberry/pecan thing Eric's mom made for me I got severe pains so bad i was bowed over the counter. After about an hour I was let go and drove myself to Convenient Care near my apartment. I got in immediately and saw a nurse, explained EVERYTHING. Then the PA came in and asked me lay back, for which I needed help, pushed around my upper abdomen a bit and then left. She quickly came back and told me that they needed me to go to the ER and get a CT scan. My insurance doesn't cover ambulance rides so I signed a waver and drove all the way around the lake to the ER. I had been messaging Eric and he was finally able to get out of work about the time I got to the ER.
So, I got there, got 4 vials of blood drawn and an IV and then no one talked to me for like two hours. FINALLY the doc came and surprise, she actually listened to me (after explaining my ills to the nurse she asks "has anyone ever really looked at your gallbladder?) and said I would need a CT and a pelvic exam (which I blessedly did not have). So my crazy, over peppy nurse brought in my gallon of orange contrast drink ans I started drinking but then got ordered to stop since I was also going to have an ultrasound. Had that and I could see the gallstones on the scan. I asked the tech, but she said she couldnt tell me anything, but had asked if I had been pregnant since women my age who have been sometimes get gallstones. As they were wheeling me away she said to me "I think we have an answer for you this time". Also, during this time I was given fluids through my IV and some pain meds which helped but didnt make the pain fully go away. I waited for a long time and the Doc came in and told me that I had gall stones, they estimated between 8-15 and that although they were not blocking anything that my severe pain might have been from one passing. That docs shift was done after her visit to me. I continued to drink the stuff which got really painful since it was so much and I really wanted to puke but if I did i would have just had to drink more. Got the CT which they told me showed nothing--they dont know gall stones, and finally got to pee. I was there for another hour or so when another doc came in and told me that the usual procedures for gall stones are either to just wait and see if they get better (which he suggested since they were blocking something and causing an infection. booo) or getting it out, and that would be the decision of me and my surgeon I have to call and schedule and appt on monday. The first doctor told me that if they couldnt get me in very soon to call another Dr at Gutherie (where my primary health care provider is) to get this taken care of ASAP. I will push to have it taken out asap, Im tired of dealing with this. They gave me vicodin which has been a blessing since yesterday and today Im still in a lot of pain--yesterday still felt pain through 2 pills. At least there is some relief. **fingers crossed**
Here is some medical jargon for Erynn--highlights from my reports:
**Your evaulation shows evidence of gallbladder disease. <--I knew it!
**Probably complex cyst within the left ovary. Further evaulation with ultrasound may be helpful if warranted. it is 2cm. (they did not check this on my ultrasound--this has me a bit worried)
**Small poorly marginated low density lesion in the posterior segment right liver lobe likely represents a small hemangioma.
**there is a small 1.3cm cyst arising in the right kidney.
**there is copious stool through out the colon!! <--I still havent pooped :( Time to try a laxative, I think.
That is the state of the Linds...hopefully I will feel better soon. Thanks for all the well wishes!
There are a total of 4 pages, but those are just the highlights.

Its been awhile
I've been terribly neglectful of this blog as of late. Mostly because my firefox stopped working so I went to Safari and forgot the pass word. I never did figure it out, but thought I would try when low and behold i was signed in! excellent!
Whats going on with Lindsey, you ask? Well, here we go with as short as I can make it.
My terrible boss at the bank was transferred, and there was work bliss for 2 weeks. Now Ive been transferred to another bank (luckily not with her) to the branch on Cornell and i start there tomorrow. We will see how it goes. I am also picking up extra hours at another branch, Collegetown, so i am working a full time without the lovely hour lunch. I will no longer have mondays off, which I will dearly miss as I usually cleaned and did laundry on those days. Okay, and sometimes i sat around in my underwear watching marathons of "America's Next Top Model" but that between you and me, eh?
I also start teaching again soon, filling in for an instructor at Oswego who is going to be away for that month. During this time I will have three jobs and therefor secure my place as a Superhero. I'm also waitressing at a bar/restaurant in Collegetown but only work once or twice a week.
My cats are still super crazy.
Ive been lax on the work out front and emotionally eating, so ive gained like 4 pounds. Luckily i think the insane drinking of water and recent heavy hikes have helped keep off more. I did 20 minutes on the elliptical tonight and went 2.1 miles with an average speed of 6.4 miles and hour and burned 248 calories. Woot! I really should beef if up to 25 or 30 minutes though. Finding that my current work out music is Evanesence and Britney Spears...Im shamed a bit on the latter, but boy do i go faster with the repetative trashy pop inspiration. I had wanted to lose the 16 pounds (to 100 pounds--but now 20 since I gained those damn 4 pounds) by christmas--and in there it would also put me below 200lbs (dont know when i last saw that, perhaps 9th grade) so I need to adjust my goal. I was at a plateau before so maybe this will help kick start me, but ideas are appreciated. I would like to lose 10 pounds before christmas which would put me close to being below the 200 mark and half way to the 100 pound goal! Here's hoping! Also, I have a jiggly belly...any recommendations? i have a pilates dvd, and it is OK, but Im getting bored with it after so many months.
Gah, well time to cook dinner. I think we will have thin sliced steak with broccoli and rice, MMM!

State of the Linds 8/26
Sorry I haven't been updating a whole lot here. A lot of it is due to the fact that my laptop has been having some major problems, especially with the internet. I shudder to think that I may have to buy a new one soon, especially when this one isn't even two years old yet. I think she qualifies as a POS. Eric is talking about buying a new one around Christmas time, and I think i may do the same if i can pay off my camera before then (on my Best Buy card) and if this one is somewhat okay give it to my parents to cover a few of the old car payments i can't make right now (they're consolidated with Dad's business loans). Either way, yuck.
Yesterday Tara, Cora, and Alexa (Cora's daughter) came and visited me for a few hours after work. It was SO GOOD to see them, and to get to meet Alexa FINALLY! We just hung around the apartment, I made dinner, and then we went to a nearby park to tire Alexa got a lot of nice pictures--cause I take my camera pretty much everywhere I go.
Work is going okay. We have a new supervisor and she's making things easier. The job search just hasn't gone well in terms of full time positions. I have a connection at the Nines for a waitressing job (part time) but I can't get the guy on the phone. There is a woman who comes into work, the mgr for kilpatricks (an Irish pub) saying that they needs waitresses so I told her I was interested. I picked up and application and she let me list her as a reference so now I am just waiting to hear. Its not glamorous, but hopefully it would be somewhat enjoyable and make things financially easier since the savings is getting quite low.
I need to do something with my hair. It is in that "in between" stage of length where I can't do anything with it, and am not sure if i want to grow it longer or cut it shorter. Im leaning towards longer only because with it short I need regular trims, and they're just too expensive in Ithaca for anything resembling "regular". Maybe a dye job, but red fades so fast....bah.
Im hoping to get some painting done today, finally having decided to do some small 8"x10" paintings of the distorted and contorted nudes I started in drawings a while ago. I finally got ink for the printer so i can print my images out to work from.
Classes start this week for a lot of people and I am jealous a little bit. I wish i was going back to school, in pretty much any capacity.
Oh well, time to do something.

Vacay
Well, it is long over-due (and i am procrastinating about cleaning up after the tornado that hit the apartment) so here is the post about Vacay!
The nine days was spent in Hammond, NY on the St Lawrence River with Missy, Frank, and Eric at Frank's parent's cottage--so no, i did not camp in a tent for 9 days! We didn't do much other then swim, fish, play games, sleep, nap, do crossword puzzles, and eat. One tradition of camp is to cook something you have not cooked before (although this tradition was bended for old favorites) and I made speedies with a potato salad one day and bruschetta another day. Eric made Japanese favorites Okonomiyaki and Ramen (not the nasty stuff we can get for 25 cents) and it was yummy. Frank and Missy went all out making things like poppyseed chicken, home made rubens, lasagna, eggs benedict and much more. Needless to say I wasn't thrilled to step on the scale after to food smorgisborg but I think it was balanced out by all the swimming and only gained a pound! WOOT! And Im back to elliptical so hopefully that will be gone in no time! Missy's 32nd birthday was while we were at camp and we had a mini party with a super delicious cake, mmmm cake. We went to Alexandria bay a few times, had pizza on the bay and walked around looking at all the boats that we wish we could afford! In addition there were other guests of Missy and Frank's parents at different times, neighbors Betty and Dave (who took us on 2 different boatrides to see Brockville at sunset--so pretty!), and Frank's sister and her husband Sarah and Dave. We also went to the drive in and saw "GI JOE" and "ORPHAN" (each a bit better then my rather low expectations, GI JOE having Christopher Eccelston-a former Doctor Who-was a high point). I did get sick friday night into saturday, my sinuses exploding so most of my last full day there was spent sleeping. Also, my friend, Amy had her baby, Cordelia saturday morning at 2:09 am. Cordy was 5 weeks early and weighed 5lbs and was 18 inches but is in good heath. She is still in the hospital until she gains more weight, but we're all excited!
Home now, and the cats are excited to be back. There's been a lot of shuffling of people at work-something that seems to be making it marginally better. Ive gotta call tonight about a waitressing job my friend Dani mentioned to me at the Nines. Eric is also looking into a vacation to Alaska for next may-ish for Me, Him, Missy and frank, so ive gotta make some money! Here's hoping.
Oh yes, check out the camp pics on facebook!
Also todays list of "TO DO":
*Clean the apartment
*Go pick up some groceries for dinner
*Teach the elderly ladies
*I really need to finish Lance & Stephs wedding photos
*Paint
I think the latter is not going to happen. Sigh :-(
Thats all for now.

Hide and Seek
As I was laying on the couch playing the XBox (not feeling very well) I noticed that I had not seen Lina in awhile. So, I looked EVERYWHERE for her, in the cupboards, under the beds, I even looked in the fridge-cause you never know. I caught Eric online and asked him for Lina's hiding spots...even looked outside. I finally thought to look under the couch Erynn and Chris gave me and low and behold...Lina. I didn't think she would fit under there. So when she didn't get out i lifted up the couch and she stayed under there. Either she really likes it or she is going emo on me...

I basically freaked out trying to find her, the pain.

The Couch
Well it has an eventful evening. I hung out a little with Erynn and Chris on their last night in Ithaca, had some pizza and a beer while catching the end of "Serenity". Being that Erynn is moving to the Caribbean for Medical School and Chris is moving to Florida for Video Game School they were unloading their well loved couch. Now, we have been using a fouton that's seen better days and sags in the middle, so I told Erynn we would take the couch (Free!). After much shuffling--the fouton goes into the bedroom so Eric's mattress is no longer on the floor-yes we have two beds (mine was better for him when his back was bad, and mine is bigger!) and the couch is in! I wish it leaned back more but it is fairly comfortable. I like to think that the apartment is very.....eccletic...polite terminology for "doesn't match" but hey, Ive always thought that matching is over rated.
Anways-here's the couch (and half the livingroom!) EDIT: for some reason it is only showing half the picture, so just click on it...

Fresh Start
Well, I am doing this for Korleen! So we can be blogging buddies, but also as a place to publicly blog since my other one is private.
Not much going on lately. I blew my diet to smitherines tonight devouring chicken wings with some co-workers, but I did work out after-20 minutes on the elliptical and roughly an hour in the pool. And right now I am laying in bed watching "Heroes" season 1 while my cat, Xel, keeps trying to sleep on my head like a hat.
Well, I should go to bed, 6:45 comes awfully early!
